Dear All,
I began my professional career as an institutional fundraiser in public administration in Amsterdam, following my graduation. I found the role quite fulfilling and enjoyed the work immensely. One of my accomplishments was securing funding for Benelux startups which allowed me to transition into Amsterdam’s innovative startup ecosystem, where I actively promoted growth and innovation. It was during this time, in 2015, that I realized my affinity for pursuing funding and overseeing large-scale projects. I also recognized my preference for raising funds in an environment that viewed capital as a catalyst for innovation rather than an administrative burden.
In 2016, I embarked on the ambitious journey of establishing c*funds independently. Our efforts proved successful as we managed to secure funding rounds for several B2B and SaaS startups, while also connecting them with significant European subsidies. It was through this experience that I discovered my passion for technology and working alongside venture capitalists.
As I delved further into the c*funds venture, I observed that many other placement agents were predominantly spin-off operations from previous investment banks who possessed substantial pools of capital and extensive connections. In contrast, c*funds was built from the bottom up as an independent advisor and agent.
During my childhood, I drew inspiration from the iconic character Emma Peel. She exuded confidence, intelligence, and resourcefulness. My admiration for Emma Peel influenced my vision for c*funds, as I was inspired to break the status quo and lead through empowering others across the industry.
Sincerely,
Katalin Gallyas
